Romania edged the Czech Republic and Greece remained unbeaten after surviving against Belgium on an exciting Day Six of the U20 European Championship for Women Division B.
The Czechs, looking to claim a top-three finish in order to gain promotion in front of their own fans in Klatovy, fell 68-65 to Romania.
They led by seven early in the second half only for Romania to pour in eight straight points for a 56-55 advantage.
The contest remained tight until the end.
Gabriela Cursaru snapped a 62-62 tie late in the game with a lay-up and then added two free-throws to take her points haul to 22.
Renata Pudláková kept the hosts in the game with a three-ball to cut the deficit to one.
But Cristina Bigica's two free-throws just two seconds from the end gave Romania a three-point triumph.
Romania improved to 3-3 and the Czechs fell to 3-2.
Greece improved to 5-0 but only after a narrow escape against the Belgians, 64-63.
Belgium's Emmanuella Mayombo knotted the game at 63-63 with three seconds to go with a lay-up, taking her points haul to 29.
Georgia Kantara then split a pair of free-throws with one second to go for the Greeks to clinch victory.
Germany (3-2) led by as many as 27 points midway through the fourth quarter and routed Israel 93-73 to improve to 3-2.
Finja Schaake, the Germans 1.79m power forward/center, had 25 points, five rebounds and two assists.
Israel slumped to 1-5 with the setback.
Hungary remained undefeated with a 59-47 victory over Switzerland.
The Swiss (1-4) went on top by four in the early going but Hungary went in front to stay midway through the second quarter and rolled to their fifth triumph.
Judit Mányoky's 12 points paced Hungary, who also got 10 points and seven boards from Viktória Fuisz.
Lilla Adamecz also weighed in with eight points and five rebounds.
