|Jessica Almeida saved her best game for last to help Portugal end their U20 European Championship Women campaign on a high|
Relegated Portugal signed off their time in the top flight in positive fashion after completing a 62-54 success over Great Britain who ended with the unwanted tag of being the only team at the U20 European Championship Women without a win to their name.
Jessica Almeida came up with 20 points for Portugal to condemn the British to an eye-watering ninth straight loss in Debrecen although it wasn't all bad for the Brits, with 16-year old prospect Cheridene Green posting a superb double-double of 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile Daniela Domingues showed once again why she has been such a stand-out for Portugal throughout their difficult time during the competition with another classy 18 point contribution.
Having saved their Division A status, Italy chalked up their sixth consecutive victoy to finish the Relegation Round unbeaten and on an even bigger high after claiming a resounding 83-59 success against Latvia.
Caterina and Francesca Dotto set the tone defensively for Italy by grabbing a combined ten steals, whilst Clara Salvini continued her good work of late with 11 points, gained from an efficient five of six floor shooting.
