Christelle Diallo led the way for France with 13 points and seven rebounds
A first-half blowout ended Sweden's chances of finishing in fifth spot as France raced out of the blocks to claim a convincing 66-46 success at the U20 European Championship Women in Debrecen.
The result never looked to be in any doubt once France racked up the first eleven points of the game, and even though Sweden came back to reduce the damage to 17-12 by the end of the first quarter, the second period was to prove an absolute nightmare.
In fact, Sweden recorded the lowest quarter score in the entire competition with just three points as France poured in seventeen down the other end of the floor.
Trailing 34-15, Sweden tried to get a foothold back in the contest but rarely gave even a glimpse of producing any noteworthy fight-back and in the end, it was all too comfortable for Les Bleues.
Things could have been even worse for Sweden had France not missed nine of ten outside shots, but with Christelle Diallo leading the way in the paint with 13 points and seven rebounds, they had enough production under the baskert to cruise over the line.
